Known by many names in various regions of the old world. Before the industrial age many, if not most drinking vessels were of wood for the common people. Often carved from beautiful burls. My half "noggin" is just a small carved cup of wood in black cherry and seasoned with a food safe linseed oil and beeswax. Noggins were carried in North America by frontiersman, voyageurs and Native Americans. Often worn on the belt or sash and secured with a toggle and cord and used as a dipper when crossing streams. Do you like to entertain the spirits? Liquid spirits I mean. Carved to hold two ounces of strong drink, half the daily rum ration given to sailors and soldiers of old. Sitting around the fire with friends? Share some spirits and good cheer with this cup. Add this to your camping kit and impress your bushcraft buddies. What about using it as a salt cellar, scoop or small sugar bowl? Thank you for looking.
