Carved by my son Peter, the large apprentice. He let his imagination run with this strainer spoon. Probably not suited for peas but brussel sprouts and boiled cabbage? We got your spoon. The spoon is carved in red maple and sports a milk painted handle. Eleven inches long for cooking or serving. Carved with a hatchet and knives and left with an honest tooled finish then seasoned with a food safe mix of linseed oil and beeswax. No mass manufacturing in our shop. Each spoon is carved one at a time with your satisfaction and comfort in mind. Buy yourself or a friend an heirloom quality spoon carved by a young man and maker in the making. Feel the difference. Thank you for looking and thank you for supporting my boys.

I recently decided to outfit myself with a deluxe version of "old-school" woodsman / bushcraft gear. These spoons, scoops, and kitchen tools are as deluxe as you can go while retaining the old-school feel. It reminds me of Norwegian chip carving, but elevated. They will all go into a protective roll case for my cooking enjoyment out in nature. Each piece is lovingly hand made and individually packaged like a Christmas present. It was wonderful to open each piece and see the functional art in each and every package. I'll probably be ordering others for my new home when we build it.
