Known by many names in various regions of the old world. Before the industrial age many, if not most drinking vessels were of wood for the common people. Often carved from beautiful burls. The cups carved by Native Americans and French Voyageurs were called Noggins. My tiny noggin is just a small hook knife carved cup of wood in gifted sunburst honeylocust sporting a simple braided hemp cord and glass beads by GreenmanNaturecraft, another etsy seller. Seasoned with a food safe mix of linseed oil and beeswax. Noggins were carried by the frontiersman, voyageurs and Native Americans and often worn on the belt or sash and secured with a toggle. Used as a dipper when crossing streams. Do you like to entertain the spirits? Liquid spirits? Carved to hold about 2tbs or one ounce of whatever spirit you choose. This can also be used as a scoop to measure your coffee grounds in the morning. It will hold enough grounds for a good strong cup of coffee. Sitting around the fire with friends may have just become easier. Add this to your camping kit and impress your bushcraft buddies. What about using it as a small scoop in your kitchen? Thank you for looking.
