Known by many names in various regions of the old world. Before the industrial age many, if not most drinking vessels were of wood for the common people. Often carved from beautiful burls. The North American cups came to be called noggins. This noggin is just a small carved cup of wood in foraged red maple stained with black walnut husks, water and moonshine. It sports a paracord lanyard with a glass bead and a carved black cherry bead toggle. Seasoned with a food safe mix of linseed oil and beeswax. Noggins were carried by the frontiersman, voyageurs and Native Americans and often worn on the belt or sash and secured with the toggle. Used as a dipper when crossing streams or paddling a canoe. Do you like to entertain the spirits? Liquid spirits? Carved to hold about two ounces or a good strong shot of whatever spirit you choose. This can also be used as a scoop in the kitchen. Sitting around the fire with friends may have just become easier. Add this to your camping kit and impress your bushcraft buddies. Thank you for looking.
